Your room is quietly located on the ground floor. The en-suit bathroom offers you a tub, walk-in shower, toilet and double sinks.
In the room doors give entrance to the small city-garden, that is facing south. This garden is for your private use.

The room has a comfortable lits-jumeaux. Up to your choice it will provide 1 double duvet or two single duvets.
There are two cosy armchairs and a dining area.

The luxery breakfast is served at the time of your choice.

You can park your car free of charge and unlimited in time at the parking lot behind the railwaystation on a 2 minutes walking distance. But there is also a possibility to use the gated parking near our house. Bicycles can be stored savely (and charged) in our garage.

Enkhuizen Golden Age city

You will find Traces  of Enkhuizens rich history everywhere in the city. You can visit the 15th century Westerkerk and its original libary (the Librije). This is a top-100 monument of the Netherlands.

The beautifull canalstreet Zuider Havendijk offers a pleasant decor for special events as “Enkhuizen at candlelight” around Christmas time, the Zuider Havendijk Concert in the summer and the celebration of the victory over the Spanish occupants on may 21.

City guides provide walking tours along the historical highlights of Enkhuizen. The tourist information office across the railway station will give you all information.

Enkhuizen houses several museums. The Zuiderzeemuseum tells the stories of the old fishing vllages on the border of the former Zuiderzee, what is now the IJsselmeer lake.

There is a big open air museum where you go back in time, and a traditional museum area with expositions and a shipshall with traditional wooden boats .But there is also the very charming “Ships in a bottle” museum (Het Flessenscheepjesmuseum), located in a very old building with a lock inside!

Over 400 years the Enkhuizer Almanac is published every year. It predicts the weather, gives the tides and other astronomical data, holidays and marketdays. The publisher has a very charming museum near the Drommedaris.

Cultural Centre De Drom offers a variaty of movies, cabaret and concerts.
In june the famous Enkhuizen Jazzfestival takes place. There are jazz performances al around the city.

Around the harbours

In our marina’s and harbours you will see modern yachts but also the tradional ships, the so-called  “Bruine vloot”.

There are daily sails to Urk (by sailing boat), to Stavoren and to Medemblik. You can take sailing lessons or make a boattrip around Enkhuizen.

Historical triangle

The 3 historical cities Enkhuizen, Hoorn and Medemblik are connected by a steamtrain, modern train and ferry. It offers you the oppertunity to visit the steammuseum (Stoommuseum) in Medemblik and the nice city of Hoorn.

Westfries Omringdijk

Holland is an area of polders and dikes. The Westfries Omringdijk is a 126 km long dike ages back to the 12th century, and provides security against the salt water.

Now you can discover (parts of) this dike by foot, bike or car and enjoy the beautifull landscape.

The mayor shipping streets of Enkhuizen are the Westerstraat and the  Vijzelstraat.

Here you will find small local shops that might surprise you. There is brocante and  antiquities, but also tastfull cheese, coffee, chocolate and fashion.

At the Havenweg you will find the harbourshop of Oskar Baltus. He offers souvenirs, leisure clothing and outdoor clothing. Worth you visit!

At a 25 minute cardrive over the dike to Lelystad you will find Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet, over 150 shops in a charming recontructed seventeeth-century village.

Hard trotting day Enkhuizen

Every year on the third Thursday of September, horses march over the Paktuinen past our B & B! A special event with ring stings, cleanest whole, running horse and short track trotting.

Enkhuizen is all about equestrian sports all day long.
